Migrating to a 2 node Switched Cluster with NetApp CN1610 Cluster Switches

These notes are fairly faithful to the original article, just written for 8.3+ specifically, and here we have 4 cluster ports per node - e0a (clus1), e0b (clus2), e0c (clus3), e0d (clus4) - like for AFF/FAS 80X0.

0) Health Check ::>

cluster show

1) Send AutoSupports ::>

system node autosupport invoke -node * -type all -message "MAINT=2h converting to switched cluster"

## Perform 2,3,4 on BOTH new cluster switches. ##

2) Disable node ports #

configure
interface 0/1-0/12
shutdown
exit
exit

3) Verify the ISL is up #

show port-channel 3/1

4) Display neighboring devices #

show isdp neighbors

## Cluster Network Verification ##

5) Verify cluster port cabling ::>

run * cdpd show-neighbors

6) Verify cluster LIFs are up and operational ::>

net int show -role cluster

7) Disable auto-revert on clus LIFs ::>

net int modify -vserver Cluster -lif *clus* -auto-revert false
net int show -role cluster -fields auto-revert

## Cluster Switch 1 ##

8) Migrate clus1 / clus4 ports e0a -> e0b / e0d -> e0c ::>

Plug e0a {NODE1} into next available port.
Plug e0d {NODE1} into next available port.
Plug e0a {NODE2} into next available port.
Plug e0d {NODE2} into next available port.

14) Enable node ports on Cluster Switch 1 #
