Problem: After doing a datacenter relocation of a FAS8040 HA-Pair, one of the nodes would not boot on startup with the following:

SP failure. Resetting SP from primary FW. This can take a few minutes

IPMI PCI Slot Control failed.
IPMI:Get controller FRU inventory:failed
BIOS POST Failure(s) detected: SP IPMI failure. Abort AUTOBOOT
LOADER>
Solution: This might just be good luck. Usually these "Failed to recover SP" issues mean you need a log a call with NetApp Support and get the motherboard replaced.
- Unplug the SP cable (you might want to try with unplugging other cables, I just unplugged the SP)
- Reseat the motherboard/system board or - better said - pull the controller tray out the chassis to kill power to it, wait like 30 seconds, then push it back in.
- Cross your fingers
When the node booted up the second time, we were lucky:
