7 to C Migration Methods for SnapMirrored 7-Mode Volumes: Part 1/7

Part 1) Overview

In the following 7 Part lab series, we migrate an existing Data ONTAP 7-Mode 7 to 7 SnapMirror relationship, to Clustered Data ONTAP and a C to C SnapMirror relationship, using 4 different methods.

In the lab we have the following systems:

MSDMC1 - Windows 2008R2 SP1 Domain Controller and DNS Server
MSADM1 - Windows 2008R2 SP1 Member Server (we install 7MTT on this, and use it to test our shares)

NAFAS1 - Data ONTAP 8.1.2 7-Mode Simulator (we upgrade to 8.1.2P4)
NANAS1 - The name of our CIFS server on NAFAS1

NAFAS2 - Data ONTAP 8.1.2 7-Mode Simulator (we upgrade to 8.1.2P4)
NANAS2 - The name of our CIFS server on NAFAS2

NACLU1N1 - Clustered ONTAP 8.2.1 Simulator
NACLU1 - A single-node cluster
NASVM1 - Data Storage Virtual Machine and our CIFS server

NACLU2 - A single-node cluster
NACLU2N1 - Clustered ONTAP 8.2.1 Simulator
NASVM2 - Data Storage Virtual Machine and our CIFS server
